Bury Hospice is 30 and its anniversary will see a year-long programme of special events and fundraising activities taking place throughout 2021.
Since the hospice opened in June 1991, the charity has helped thousands of people through some of the most difficult times in their lives with specialist, compassionate and palliative end of life care.
It is now calling on local people to help celebrate the big anniversary by taking on a fundraising challenge, pledging to donate a monthly regular gift, or signing up to join the weekly lottery, or volunteering in one of the many roles where the hospice needs assistance.
Planned for this anniversary year is a Bunny Hop schools challenge, a Butterfly memory release, the annual charity golf tournament, the hospice’s version of ‘Strictly come dancing’ and much, much more.
Rachel Wallace, Head of Marketing, Fundraising and Communications, said: "Every single one of our amazing team of staff, volunteers and supporters has played a part in helping us to reach this special anniversary and it is local people who continue to enable us to make an incredible difference to the lives of the families we support.”
All of the services are provided free of charge, but as a charity it needs to raise over £2.6 million to fund its work.
